Tips, Hot Keys, and More

** Disclaimer: Like everything on the internet, this is just my personal opinion and a collection of things I wish I knew when I first started playing. If you don't agree, no offense taken!**

Helpful Hotkeys for Albion:

  • Press "M" for the World Map.
    • This will pull up the global map and show you where you are in the Royal Continent or the Outlands.
      • The exception being the Roads of Avalon.
  • Press "N" for the Local Map.
    • This will bring up a detailed map of the current city or area you are in.
      • Helpful to note choke points, exits, and terrain changes.
      • Use this to locate shop locations and see usage fees in the cities.
  • Press "NUM", number lock, on your keyboard to autorun!
    • Helpful when running long distances
    • This will  help keep you from clicking on something after you take the invisibility potion in the Black zone.
  • Press "P" to ping your location on the mini-map.
    • Helpful to show others your position on the minimap
    • Alternatively, you can double-click anywhere on the mini-map to ping a certain location.
  • Press the Space Bar to auto-attack an aggroed mob
    • This will prevent you from accidentally mounting up if you are too close to your mount or clicking on a resource.
  • Press "B" to open your Destiny Board.
    • Use this to monitor your progress on your skills.
  • Press Shift and Click (Shift+click) and item to move it directly to your inventory.
    • This will help you quickly loot bodies before others can get to it.
  • Press Control and Click (CTRL+click) to enter an item into the in game chat box.
    • This will post a photo of the selected item into the in game chat that will display the items name, quality, and stats in game.
    • Useful when trying to sell items or looking to buy items.

Hot Tips:

  • UPDATE your combat settings!
    • Open the in game settings and disable "force combat mode".
      • This will allow you to pick up silver and loot bodies while you are still in combat with mobs and players.
  • Sell on the black market early and often Black Market
    • The Black Market is located in Carleon.
    • This is where all dungeon loot comes from.
    • The game will pay a premium for items needed for loot drops in the dungeons.
    • Anything from T2 bag to T8.3 Avalonian weapons can be sold if there is an order to fill.
  • Take advantage of City refining bonuses.
    • Each city has specific sets of craftable items and resources that will automatically give you a resource return on items crafted and recourses that are refined.
  • Don't be afraid of the Red and Black zones.
    • There is money to be made in the PVP areas and as long as you stay calm and react fast there is minimal risk.
      • See my escape/gathering guide for more details!
  • Dungeons are for fame not loot.
    • You can make money a hundred different ways in Albion, but dungeons are not always the most reliable.
    • Loot drops are not consistent in dungeons.
  • Use your island.
    • If you are looking for "passive" money grow carrots until you can grow pumpkins.
      • I say passive very loosely. You will need to harvest, water, and replant every 22 hours with premium.
    • Growing animals can be a great sources of silver.
      • You will need to feed them a vegetable.
        • Carrots are easy and cheap to grow!
      • Butcher animals to sell the meat as opposed to the whole animal. People need the meat to craft food or feed other carnivorous animals.
      • Each animal will give 20 meat when butchered.
      • Geese are better to grow than chickens.
        • Geese have an 80% chance to spawn a baby without nurturing.
  • Run that daily expedition.
    • In every city there is a portal that hosts a free daily expedition.
      • Do this for a free 1000 silver and a Royal Sigil.
        • The tier of the sigil depends on the difficulty of the expedition.
        • Early on you can sell these from some decent silver or you can save them to craft Royal Armor, boots, and headgear.
  • Don't be afraid to mix it up!
    • Albion has no set class system. You are what you wear.
      • You should absolutely mix and match sets and weapons to find what works for you.
        • Who knows you may just create the new META.
